Welcome
Welcome to my webpage. I'm an aspiring Chemistry student and a hobbyist photographer; feel free to take a look at my works in the "Gallery" tab.
Photography is a fun hobby, I love the freedom of the medium. The way a moment can be captured in one photo, and the way you can remember how you felt at the time it was taken is such a beautiful thing. This past year, I took an intro to photography class and learned many different styles and techniques of photography. I've learned the basics of the medium, and have applied them to fun projects, such as in Light Painting and in Portraiture. |
Why do we smile? Why do we laugh? Why do we feel alone? Why are we sad and confused? Why do we read poetry? Why do we cry when we see a painting? Why is there a riot in the heart when we love? Why do we feel shame? What is that thing in the pit of your stomach called desire? |
Some of the photographers I admire are:
Duane Michals, who's fine art photography manages to create a story that garners emotional responses from me every timeI see any of his works. Alice Gao, a still life photographer that is able to capture beautiful aesthetics in all of her works. Ben Von Wong, a fantasy fine art photographer. Von Wong's pieces are very large installations that always convey powerful messages about subjects he is passionate about, such as pollution and waste. |
About Me
I would say that my strengths in photography are my different ways of viewing and shooting a subject. I like to get close my subjects and shoot them in a way that captures exactly how I see them in my mind.
I love photographing things full of life, such as nature, but I also love taking photos of things that are still but vibrant. I don't deal too often with the dull, I prefer things with color. My first year intro to photography course has taught me much of the basics of photography, things that I use whenever I shoot on my own. With the basics under my belt, I am able to arrange them in different ways to get a shot that matches my aesthetics.
The different photography techniques I've learned have been more and more fun, and I can see myself applying them to my personal art much more in the future. There are some details about me personally that I'd like to add. I am a student pursuing higher education in the field of Chemistry, which will hopefully lead to a brighter future.
Aside from photography I enjoy creative writing in my downtime, which has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember. I enjoy music of all varieties, and I often see that my music is reflected in the works I produce. I am simply trying to navigate this hectic world as easy as possible, though that's not quite unique. |
